Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor (Library & Information Science):
Educational Qualifications:
General Category: Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university with at least 55% marks (without rounding off).
Reserved Categories (SC/ST/PwD/Transgender): At least 50% marks in the Master’s degree (without rounding off).
Ph.D. Holders: Candidates who completed their Master’s degree by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% relaxation in marks (i.e., 50% for General category).
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian nationals.
Exam Pattern:
The JKSET examination comprises two papers:
Paper I: General Aptitude (common for all subjects)
Paper II: Subject-specific, i.e., Library & Information Science
Both papers are conducted on the same day, and candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks as specified by the conducting authority.
