Supreme Court of India Recruitment 2026: 14 Assistant Librarian Posts
The Supreme Court of India has released an official advertisement (No. F.6/RC-2025) dated February 18, 2026, inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Assistant Librarian.

- Total Vacancies: Fourteen (14) vacancies including UR-10, SC-3, and ST-1
- Pay Band: Pay Level 8 of Pay Matrix with an initial basic pay of Rs. 47,600/- plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: The upper age limit for the candidate is 30 years. Usual age relaxation will be admissible to the candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and others as per Government of India Rules.
- Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Library Science from a recognized university.
- Diploma in Computer Application recognized by AICTE/ DOEACC or equivalent or Library Automation Course conducted by National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources.
- Knowledge of Computer operation in Library work, including knowledge and experience of working with any standard Library Automation Software for housekeeping activities and experience with computerized search of on-line and off-line databases.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a library of recognised University/Law Library.
Scheme of Examination
- Written Test: Comprising both objective and subjective questions relating to General English, General Knowledge, General Aptitude (30 marks) and Library Management (70 marks). Maximum marks - 100, Duration 3 hours.
- Computer Test: For adjudging knowledge in Computer operation. Maximum marks - 100, Duration 1 hour.
- Interview: Maximum marks - 25.
Application Fee and Important Dates
- Application Fee: Rs. 1500/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Differently Abled/Dependent of Freedom Fighters plus bank charges. The fee shall be paid online through payment gateway provided by UCO Bank.
- Starting Date for Online Applications: February 23, 2026.
- Closing Date for Online Applications: March 8, 2026.
