UGC NET December 2026 Application Correction: Dates, Editable Fields & Official Notice

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice regarding the correction of particulars in the online application form for the UGC-NET December 2026 examination. Registered candidates were provided an opportunity to modify selected details in their application forms during the prescribed correction period.

The notice explains which particulars could be corrected, which fields were restricted, and the conditions applicable to submitting corrections.

Important Dates

Fields That Cannot Be Changed

According to Annexure-I of the official notice, candidates were not permitted to change the following particulars:

• Mobile Number
• E-mail Address
• Permanent Address
• Present Address
• Uploaded Photograph
• Uploaded Signature

Fields Allowed for Correction

1. Candidate / Parents' Names

Candidates were permitted to correct any ONE of the following fields:

• Candidate Name
• Father's Name
• Mother's Name

Only one of these three fields could be modified.

2. Examination City Preferences

Candidates were permitted to modify their examination city preferences, subject to their permanent and present addresses.

Important: NTA was not bound to allot an examination city according to the candidate's preference.

3. Other Permitted Fields

• Date of Birth
• Gender
• Category
• Sub-category / PwBD, if not verified through the UDID Portal
• Subject

Correction Fee and Submission Rules

• Additional fees, wherever applicable, had to be paid through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
• If a correction resulted in an increase in the applicable fee, candidates had to pay the additional amount.
• Fees already paid were not refundable.
• Corrections requiring additional fees became effective only after successful payment.
• The correction facility was available only once.
• After submission of the corrected application form, it was frozen and no further modifications were permitted.
• No correction was accepted after 04 November 2026, 11:50 PM.
